Paccar ESA - Electronic Service Analyst 5

The Electronic Service Analyst (ESA) is a PC-based diagnostic tool similar to CAT ET or Cummins INSITE. ESA communicates over a Data Link Adapter to the NAMUX components. A technician can use ESA to detect fault codes in the components, verify and troubleshoot new electronic instrumentation functionality, flash the control unit, program parameters and diagnose the root cause of the problems using service information on DealerNet. This software enables communication with diagnostic interface Nexiq for Kenworth and Peterbilt.

Overview
An update of ESA is available for download. It is identified as version 4.2.0.142 with a data version of 209

New CECU3 software P30-1031-005
Supports the following new vehicle features:
o Engine Derate and Shutdown functionality
o Check Engine Light Update – MX no longer affected by EGR warnings
o Coolant CVSG Telltale Update – Telltale no longer responds to SPN111 FMI11
o HC Burn update – Now activate both parked and moving warnings
o Prevent Startup DTCs

Includes the following fixes:
o Resolved an issue regarding security levels of the re-allocated RAM. Allows ESA to access the new memory locations.
o Wildcard text updated to Connect Diagnostic Tool; this appears for unsupported Check/Stop Engine faults
o Updated default parameters
o MX HC Burn French translation updated
o Adaptive Cruise Disabled French translation updated
o Adaptive Cruise Not Available French translation updated
o Cruise Set Speed in area 4 no longer active when cruise is not activated
o Clock will now increment if set to 12am
o Clock will not increment if it was not set, but will broadcast a counter on VCAN if requested to give a valid TD(Time/Date) message.
o Addressed an issue with the TD (Time/Date) message on VCAN that was populating it with nonsensical data
o Fixed an error that prevented the Odometer from incrementing

o Cruise control does not longer get stucked after using cruise pause on MX engines
o Trip odometer rolls over at 6000 miles
o If the clock and alarm are disabled the set clock message is not displayed
o Dimmer buttons support push and hold functionality
o Better TFT backlight range
o Cruise control functionality via the steering wheel
o Cruise control switches in the steering wheel included in the rationality check
o Cruise control telltale activated by cruise on/off switch
o Warning text description does not longer quickly appears and disappears when moving and the warning screen is entered
o Vehicle following distance now supports three digit values
o Clock can be set to 12:00 AM (as well as any other time)
o Unit parameter properly controls displayed units
o Fuel economy bar graph properly displays information
o Reoccurrence of some warnings after suppression
o Warning and faults are shown from all the devices
o Headlamps left on warning is properly displayed

Known Issues:
• Microsoft .NET 4.5 prevents ESA from running
